The weather has not been very good at all but we have been out and about. Only criticism is that the beds are rather hard.

Arrived in torrential rain to this lovely cottage. Spent more time in here than intended but that was okay. There was a good muddy puddle out front. Hopefully be back again.

This cottage was lovely nice and clean. Very private in a lovely tranquil environment. It had everything we needed. Ideal location to get to many places annan, gretna green wheres there's an outlet village for a bit of retail. Lockerbie and dumfries and galloway. We visited an amazing waterfall in moffat. There's supermarkets in annan which was only 9 mins away. Thank you for letting us rent this cottage we all enjoyed ourselves even the children lots of space for them outside to play.

Very comfortable stay. Thank you. Heavy rain stopped play on Tuesday but 11 young swallows perched on the wire fence outside the bedroom when we awoke was a real joy!

First stay at Bonshawbrae. We've visited Dalbeattie Museum, Kippford beach (which is all shells), and Mabie Farm Park. A lovely stay. Enjoyed the daily visit from the pheasant.

We have had a lovely stay here and there has been lots for the kids to do - the weather though has not been kind and it has rained quite a lot but that is what wellies and waterproofs were made for! The cottage is great and you have provided a lovely holiday cottage with everything thought out so very well.

We are just back from our weekend at the cottage & had a fantastic relaxing break, did not want to leave. Everything was perfect, clean, warm, everything we required was there... the children loved the electric blankets. My husband loved the open fire & I loved the peace & quiet. Lots of local information was really interesting & also clear instructions were left on how to work things.

We’d just like to say how much we enjoyed staying in the cottage – actually not a cottage, more a bungalow!! It was very comfortable. Particularly the well appointed kitchen was a pleasant surprise, and all those pots and pans, cups and saucers, etc. It had just about everything! And the weather – it was almost tropical! [Surely an exaggeration! Ed.] The cows were good company too!

We have had a wonderful time, the cottage had everything that one could need, it was very well equipped and clean. The location was fabulous, the views from all around was just superb. The sheep and lambs were fascinating to watch. We found nothing to complain about. Even the weather for this time of year was very good. I am sure we shall be back in the very near future.

We enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful holiday and the weather was certainly benevolent! We achieved all that we had planned. It was a joy to hoist up the bedroom blind each morning and watch sheep grazing at such close quarters. It was also lovely to watch the antics of a mixed flock of birds over a leisurely breakfast. The sunsets were spectacular when we drove back to the cottage after the day's explorations and the lack of light pollution enabled us to see a whole panoply of stars. All the amenities in the cottage were excellent - you thought of everything! The electric blanket was a real luxury for me and I loved the Japanese lamp in the hallway.

We arrived at the cottage and were amazed how peaceful and tranquil a place it was, the scenery was just fantastic. Everything you needed was there for you from paper and envelopes to a washing machine, clothes line and pegs. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. I will happily come back again year after year because if you want to explore it is an ideal base for the Lakes and Scotland itself.

Just a note to say a sincere thank you for allowing us to stay at your cottage. We absolutely loved it and weather was not too bad. My husband perched himself on the bench at the front every night and just sat there watching the sunset - but no red squirrels appeared! We did, however, see plenty of rabbits and a couple of hares boxing as well as the calves in the field who were really cute. We shall certainly stay there again as it was ideal for getting to places in all directions and we even went across to Portpatrick one day as it was so hot and sunny!

I would like to say what a superb place Bonshawbrae cottage is. The location is very tranquil being in the middle of the farmlands amongst neighbouring farm animals. It is very idyllic place to relax in and get away from it all and explore the south coast of Scotland. You have thought of and provided everything, in fact it is like being at home. I can’t think of a better compliment, than to quote what my four year old daughter said, when we had to leave, “Dad, can we stay here please!” – meaning to live at the cottage! No doubt you will be expecting future visits from us and from friends and family alike.

Thank you for an excellent holiday in your cottage. We hire a cottage somewhere every year, and up to this year a stay in North Wales was top of the list, but now we think Bonshawbrae has taken top spot. I think it was the red squirrel outside the kitchen window wot done it.

We would recommend Bonshawbrae wholeheartedly to anyone who wants peace, safety, and a house complete with all the amenties of home (including books and a desk!). We could easily spend the rest of our lives quite happily at Bonshawbrae (but weren't sure you'd want to share it with a couple of Yanks). The fact that the cottage was up a lane and surrounded by small fields added a sense of calm to our stay.

We wish we were still at Bonshawbrae we had such a wonderful time at the cottage. The views, and peacefulness at Bonshawbrae was just what I had envisaged. You have put everything there that one would want. It was like home. It has been a long time since I had an open fire and that one is just perfect.

Nice location, very quiet which suited us down to the ground. You certainly know how to make people welcome it was just like being at home. We were so happy in your cottage we were reluctant to come home!
